interior design living room minimalist

hi everyone, my name is annie and this is corral the chaos the channel all about getting organized – even for lazy people! so i am really excited today to be sharing with you this tour of my beautiful... ...temporary... ...minimalist apartment. so, my boyfriend and i are living abroad at the moment for the next two months or so. and so we're in this furnished apartment. we only have with us our carry-on luggage and since we're not here for very long... ...we don't want to buy a ton of things. while we don't usually live this minimally back home what i love about travel is that it reminds me that i really don't need a ton of stuff to be happy. so i wanted to make this video for you guys to inspire you to simplify your

home in some way. alright you guys, ready to start the tour? let's get going! i'm just gonna move this chair with me...i don't have a tripod. alright you guys so this is the entranceway to our apartment and right around this area is where we keep our glasses keys, bug spray just things that we need when we're running out the door. and because there's so few items we just decided not to use any kind of like organizer because it's really not necessary. then right next to that is where we have our kitchen. it's pretty simple we just have a two burner stove a microwave and then enough utensils and dishes for two people it's pretty simple, but it's challenged us to

really get creative with what we cook because we can't buy a ton of items and we don't have a lot to cook with but it turns out there's a lot that you can cook with just a pot in a pan. so, the challenge has actually been really enjoyable. so i want to mention my coffee station over here, so i really wanted to have some drip coffee in the house but i didn't want to buy a whole coffee maker. so i ended up finding this awesome collapsible silicon funnel that i could make pour overs with! so it just goes to show that you don't always have to buy the big expensive tool for the job – and sometimes the best solution is just the simplest. so the kitchen is just part of the main living area, and this is also where i tend to work and if you haven't already, be sure to check out my desk tour video where i talk all about my portable workstation.

the living room is really clean and simple it's got a dining table with a beautiful view a coffee table a couch, and this is also where we tend to hang our laundry all right moving into the bedroom...you guys, i have to mention -- i really love how clean and modern this whole place is especially the bedroom and we've really made it our own. here you can see that we've actually taken two furniture units and stacked them on top of each other. that top one used to be in the living room but now use it as this open way of storing our clothes. it's a lot easier than having to slide open these really clunky closet doors that we have. you really don't have to use your furniture just for their intended use

it's really fun to get creative and make it your own so this is where i have my vanity. i don't do my makeup over here, but i do do my hair and i keep my purse over here as well as a few other clothing items and then underneath that is also where i like to keep my tank tops and my shirts and even my underwear it's just a lot more convenient like i said than using the closet that we have because the closet itself is lovely, but also kind of clunky we don't like to slide open these doors too often so really we just use it to hang our clothes that we don't want to get wrinkled and of course i can't give you the bedroom tour without showing you the balcony we do have a pretty nice view and thankfully it

was a really pretty day when i filmed this alright, so let's move it to the bathroom now – again, super clean, super modern i really love the white countertops that we have, they're really really pretty. now i want to mention the few items that i have on the counter i think it's really important to evaluate your counter space and decide what are the items that you would benefit from having on the counter? and what are the items that you would be more benefitted if they were stored away and out of sight? so around the rest of the bathroom we don't keep a lot of items out – partially because we don't have a lot of stuff –

but you'll notice that in the shower we have this cubby where all of our our items are kind of fighting for real estate and the reality is sometimes you just have to embrace the messes you can't change this is all we have to organize our stuff and i didn't want to get a shower caddy for the short time that we're here, so to me it was more important to just learn to live with a little bit of mess, and that's okay. so that is our temporary minimalist apartment, i really hope you guys enjoyed it and i hope you're feeling motivated now to go and simplify an area of your home. if you're looking for more organizational inspiration like this then i would love to have you join this channel, so be sure to subscribe!

i look forward to seeing you in the next video. bye today we're doing jump rope with microphones! aaayyy [weird noise] there's people outside and i don't want them to hear me talking to myself.
