hi my name is judy, and i'm the writerdirector of roberta's living room. so this garden behind me is,it's roberta's garden. the story is that this woman named roberta is planting a gardeninside her living room after she learns that plants can kill you in your sleepin an enclosed room and she's pursuing this beautiful ideal death we made this garden in about half a day.we had a whole team of people working together fantastic artists, gardendesigners, florists, and lots of indie filmmakers. my name is zac hall. i do set design
floral design, installation art all sortsof stuff really with flowers, i tend toward ikebana which is the japanese art of floral design. this is a totally different. very full, very lush. these are actually potted plants. the design process itself is just the tip of the iceberg. there's so much logistics that goes around getting everything in order.i essentially had to build an entire studio in my house to make this happen. we're working outside of chicago with lots of very talented chicago filmmakers,and the indie film scene in chicago i think is really exciting. there's just,there's something happening here in this
city. there's more space now forcreatives to be financially successful and to be able to really pursue the thingsthat are coming out of our heads and our hearts. there's more space for thathere now and i think that's because of the collaborative nature here. otherbigger cities it can be a lot more cutthroat but here everybody's just likedown to collaborate.
