contemporary living room tv unit

so a few years ago i made this crazycontraption also known as an articulating tv stand which was made outof my favorite kind of wood black walnut now that happened to be my favorite kindof wood because well it was free and it came from a tree in my neighbor'sbackyard i'm sure some of you might be wondering why would you want to make athing like that because to me the only thing better than the giant flat-screentv is a tiny flat-screen tv right in front of your face and i guess it hassomething to do with growing up in the generation where it was cool to sit twoinches away from your screen you know cuz we didn't have any of these biggiant flat-screen tvs and that kind of

just you know stuck with me so far thisproject i'm using three three foot by three quarter inch squared steel tubingand creating a step-down swing arm with three pieces cut to 14 inches in lengthtwo pieces cut to 12 inches in length and one piece cut to 10 inches in length now the wooden one that i had made wasreally a functional prototype which gave me the opportunity to figure some thingsout plus i think it made for a really interesting video now originally when istarted this whole adventure of creating an articulating tv stand my objectivewas to use entirely metal but i ended up using that wood because well it was freeand i had an abundant source of it

so i managed to find this piece of steeltubing in my scrap pile unfortunately it was galvanized steel but surprisingly itwas a perfect diameter for what i needed to ensure a good weld when usinggalvanized steel you may need to grind away the zinc coating at the side ofyour weld but really it depends on which method to arc or gas and the type ofroger might be using for this project i used oxy acetylene with er 7 0 s tigwelding rods i always make sure you have properventilation when welding especially galvanized steel when zinc vapors mixedwith oxygen in the air it instantly becomes zinc oxideprolonged exposure may cause one to feel

ill similar to the flu this is alsoknown as metal fume fever and will usually go away on its own so to save time in the fabricationprocess i decided i would use a store-bought tv wall mount from a localsupplier here i'm using some resto liam automobile primer i then grab the firstcan of spray paint that i can find which happens to be this dark blue which iguess isn't too bad you can always repaint it later i don't know i'm i don't know if i usedenough washers for this project this is not a sponsored video nor is it a paidadvertisement but it could have been hey
