hi, i'm jillian and i love christmas but i especially love to decorate the tree in my home. you know, you don't have to be aprofessional designer to make a really gorgeous tree. today i'm gonna walk youthrough some quick and simple tips on how to make these beautiful trees for your home. this is a great example of a designer tree at an affordable cost. theunique tree topper is made with beaded floral stems that were wired together andwe attached them to the center of the tree using a chenille stem. another greatdesigner element are these floral sprays. just find the open areas in your tree andstick them in and they drape down creating a really organic look. here's agreat tip: add mirrors to your tree.

not only is it a modern element but the lights reflect and it gives the illusion of more lights on your tree. this is a largecashmere tree. we made a really bold statement to the middle of the tree by adding a marquee sign. what's great about an artificial tree is that you can bend thebranches around the elements to hold them in place. we also added some jumbo pinecones and large stems. what's great about that is that they fill up the holes inthe tree, you don't have to over decorate and you don't need too many ornaments. for you diy'ers out there, we made a custom tree topper. we took wooden stakes, cut themand glued them into the shape of a snowflake. we painted it red and added somesticks for a really natural feel.

now if you really love the classic traditional colors of christmas, then this tree is for you. we've embraced the red color palette, from the cardinals to the red poinsettias. here's a neat tip: for a full floral statement at a lower cost, use floral bushes. you'll get several floral heads on one bush. just trim them off and place them in your tree. now my favorite part of this tree is the topper. the goldenfocal point of the nest really brings it together but what's even neater is thatwe've traced cardinals on red paper and cut them out and hung them from theceiling to fly around the tree. as you can see, it's a lot easier than you think to create a designer tree so don't be scared. just have fun with it.
